The Chair of Child Health, which is considered the beginning of Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine, was founded by Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı.

Hacettepe Children’s Hospital was opened.

Hacettepe Child Health Institute and its affiliated Children’s Hospital started education, training, research and public service activities.

Hacettepe School of Health Sciences was established within the body of Hacettepe Child Health Institute and started education in the fields of Nursing, Medical Technology, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.

Education in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics started under the School of Home Economics within the body of Hacettepe Child Health Institute.

Hacettepe School of Health Sciences was transformed into Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The Schools of Basic Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy-Rehabilitation, Medical Technology and Health Technology were reorganized under the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Thus, Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine was established as Ankara’s second and Turkey’s fourth Faculty of Medicine.

The School of Dentistry was established under the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Hacettepe Science Center was established in order to ensure the coordination of Hacettepe educational institutions.

Hacettepe Medical Center was established and Hacettepe Medical Center Hospital was put into service.

Hacettepe University was established with the Law No. 892 dated 8 July 1967. The units that were organized and developed starting from 1954 were connected to our University. Faculties of Medicine, Health Sciences, Science and Social Sciences started education.

On 31.07.1967 Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı took office as the founder and first Rector of our University.

Hacettepe University celebrated its 50th anniversary by being proud of its past and dreaming of the future.

As one of the leading universities of our country, Hacettepe University continues its contributions to social development and universal values in the fields of science, technology and art with 16 Faculties, 15 Institutes, 4 Vocational Schools, 2 Colleges, 1 Conservatory, and 98 Research and Application Centers.
